Spring Break Nature Camp @ Cornwall Park
Apr 3 @ 9:00 am – 3:00 pm
Spring Break Nature Camp @ Cornwall Park | Bellingham | Washington | United States

Feather and Frond Forest School will be running a 5 Day Nature Camp for children aged 7-12 at Cornwall Park, April 3 to April 7th!

Our Spring Break Nature Camp will provide a host of opportunities for kids to explore the natural world and have fun adventures with friends. We will be digging deep into the Book of Nature using Awareness Games, Sensory Immersion, Wild Edibles/Plant ID, Survival and Earth-based Skills, Scout Skills, Adventuring, Storytelling and more throughout the week. We will likely be getting dirty too!

Our low 6-to-1 Child-to-Mentor ratio means that your child will not be lost in the crowd and will have ample opportunity to bond with their peers and our experienced mentors. This low ratio is one of our keys to providing a top-level program for your young naturalist/adventurer!

More information and online enrollment form can be found at: http://featherandfrond.org/2017-spring-break-camp

If you have any additional questions, please direct them to us at: contact@featherandfrond.org.

Bellingham United FC vs. Vancouver Victory Home Opener! @ Civic Center Stadium | Bellingham | Washington | United States

The Evergreen Premier League WA is finally here! The defending champions are traveling to our home turf! At the Civic Center Stadium. Bellingham United was the league runner-up last year and they are determined to claim the title this year. The Hammers have momentum and are building off success from last year’s season and their most recent indoor season. Last time Vancouver played at Civic they walked away with a tie. United had numerous chances and buried one late in the game. This is going to be an intense start to the season and we need your support to defend our home!

A handful of this year’s indoor players have joined the outdoor squad and will make an immediate impact as the season starts. They have already made their presence felt in the EPLWA playing for Spokane and Wenatchee in previous seasons. We are lucky to call them Hammers and look forward to seeing returning & new fans, families, and players all out on next weekend! Sunday April 30th with kick off at 3:00 pm. Regular ticketing starts: tickets can be purchased online in the ticket URL section or at the gate: Adult $8, Youth $5. Support Local Soccer.

This year the witty and wonderful Nancy Pearl, NPR commentator and author of Book Lust, More Book Lust, Book Crush, Book Lust To Go and, most recently, a novel called George and Lizzie, will return to share her thoughts on some of the best reads available. Village Books will be on hand to sell Nancy’s recommendations.

WNPS April Webinar: Rocky Bald Habitats of Whatcom and Skagit Counties @ Virtual Event

The Koma Kulshan Chapter of the Washington Native Plant Society holds meetings on the third Wednesday of every month from September through May. Meetings begin at 7 pm and will continue to be held virtually on Zoom until further notice.

Lowland rocky balds lack trees and abound with wildflowers. Our speaker this month, a Senior Instructor at WWU and an active member of the Koma Kulshan Chapter, will discuss the flora and ecology of the thin-soiled balds around Bellingham, including some of our showiest wildflowers and rarest plants. He will also describe a citizen science monitoring program to better understand this rare habitat type.

Registration is required to attend this event. Follow the link provided to our state calendar listing to register and receive an access link.

PLEASE NOTE: The event will be recorded, including the Question and Answer session. Registrants acknowledge their name may be a part of this recording if they participate in the Q&A session. Registrants under the age of 18 may only attend with permission from a parent or guardian.
