For those looking for culture in the Pacific Northwest, this will be the very first African fashion event. From now on, this becomes our tradition every year.
This year’s theme is ” Africa making huge strides.”
We picked this theme because our ultimate goal is to promote African entreprenariat and prevent the youth from the scourge of unemployment. So if you are a fan of African fashion, this show is for you!!!! Regardless of ethnic group.
Africa making huge strides 2019 is the largest African fashion show in Whatcom county where emerging established and local designers and models gather on one roof to celebrate African Heritage through African fashion and art and promote African culture.
This is a must see show of the year!!
African designers from Seattle and locals from our community are coming together to showcase the true collaboration of art in live. We are characterized by ethnic diversities.
The vision is to promote entrepreneurship, community leaders, charities, organizations by building a creative space for upcoming designers to showcase the best of Africa emerging fashion talent. By doing so, we will advance awareness and understanding of the richness and diversity of African culture and traditions.
“Africa making huge strides” is a combination of African products and locally produced antique accessories exibits, African dance performance, musique, history telling .
If you love diversity, culture, and art, this event is for you.
Luchrist Modern African fashion seeks to highlight the scope of opportunities accross the continent by purchasing from artisans in Africa.

Bellingham Beer and Music Festival @ North Bellingham Golf Course

“Radio Isn’t Dead” will be the theme for the Sixth Annual Bellingham Beer and Music Festival at the North Bellingham Golf Course tent pavilion on June 29, 2019. The Festival will run from 6:00 to 10:00 pm and include up to 35 different breweries pouring up to 100 different beers. Up to four different bands are also scheduled to perform. The theme of this year’s Festival is in connection with local radio station KZAX 94.9LP FM’s 3rd birthday celebration! Net proceeds benefit Make.Shift Art Space and the Alzheimer’s Association of Washington!

The Radio Isn’t Dead/Bellingham Beer and Music Festival is a 21-and-over event. The $30 ticket price includes access to all breweries and bands and a souvenir beer tasting glass. On-site food purchases from local restaurants will also be available. Attendees are asked to please leave their pet dogs at home but are encouraged to bring certified service dogs.

21st Annual Curt Maberry 3 on 3 Tournament @ Northwest Raspberry Festival

This action-packed tournament keeps growing every year. The 2018 tournament had almost 230 teams registered. Teams travel from all over the state and Canada to play. Spectators line the sidewalks to cheer on their favorite teams! Teams from Kindergarten to Adult put their teams together and register to play.

The Northwest Raspberry Festival is held simultaneously where you’ll find family fun-filled activities alongside some pretty thrilling basketball games for a jam-packed fun weekend.

The Dog Days of Summer festival will feature over 50 pet related vendors, interactive doggie games and contests, an animal caricaturist, a kid’s area, food trucks, beer garden and much more! Welcome to the 9th annual Bellhaven Jazz Festival! For the first year ever, the jazz festival will be located at Samson Estates Winery, on our event grounds.

Starting at noon on Saturday, Sept. 7th this event will feature four prominent jazz bands: Dmitri Matheny/Ed Dunsavage Quartet, Mark Lewis Quartet, Blues Union, and Jovino Santos Neto Quinteto.

Food, beverage, and seating will be available on site. Alcoholic beverages for the event will be provided by Samson Estates Winery and Boundary Bay Brewing.

Feel free to bring your own seating, chairs and even picnic basket to enjoy a day of cool jazz!
