In partnership with Northwest Youth Services, PFLAG Whatcom invites you to celebrate Trans Day of Visibility with us. From 3:00-5:00 pm NWYS Queer Youth Project will be hosting the Trans Treasury Fashion Pop-up and local art vendors will be selling their art. From 6:00-8:00 pm, we will have a photo booth, community art piece, and Q & A panel. This event is free to attend but registration is required to attend the Q & A panel. The Nordic Fiddlers Bloc is a fiddle trio that masterfully blends the traditions of Norway, Sweden and the Shetland Islands. Olav Luksengård Mjelva (Norway), Anders Hall (Sweden) and Kevin Henderson (Shetland Islands), have swiftly gained a reputation for their gripping and unique blend of fiddle music since the inception of the Bloc in early 2009. They maintain a firm focus on the traditions of their home while developing a sound that has been described as “meaningful”, ”intense” and “invigorating”. Their clever use of harmony, rhythm, riffs & bass lines creates a sound that leaves the listener enthralled but at the same time dumbfounded that the sound only comes from three fiddles.

Saturday’s nursery-related activities will include; mini-classes, gardening clinics, DIY zones, and planting activities for children. A perfect event for families wanting to learn how to prepare their home garden for the coming season. The Art Fair portion will host 8 local makers and creators ranging in mediums, inspiring us to steward our community into the fresh season of growth, hope, and renewal. From textile, paint, upcycled clothing, pottery, jewelry & more – Bellingham’s diverse artist community will come together for the love of plants.
