TROPISM will feature free public hours from 12noon-5pm on both Saturday and Sunday, with an independent publisher’s fair, and open studios with some of the artists who work year round from the Lookout Arts Quarry!

We have very limited full access tickets available, which include parking and camping, and access to all programming through the weekend. Full access tickets are available through a sliding scale ticketing structure. Pay what feels accessible and good for you. All money goes to pay artists and into improving and maintaining the Lookout Arts Quarry programs.

$0 (by donation) – Book, Record, Publishing Fair, 12-5pm Saturday and Sunday

Full Admission – for full access to live performances, presentations, artist talks, and more. Gates for full access ticket holders open at 10am on Saturday, May 25th, and you may camp through Sunday night, check out by 11am on Monday.

$0 – Kids 12 and under
$110 – Creatives, artists, low income, and needs based discount
$130 – Supporter, standard general admission
$160 – Sustainer, for those able to pay a little bit more to support the livelihood of the cultural creating artists involved

Please join naturalist and trained botanist, Jazmen Yoder in this medicinal plant and wildcrafting course focused on fireweed and stinging nettle. In this course you will learn several uses for these two amazingly useful plants.

There are so many uses for these two plants that they deserve their own intensive course. If you have an interest in herbalism and wildcrafting, this course is designed for you!

What to expect:

How and when to forage fireweed and stinging nettle

Ethnobotanical history

Ecology

How to make fireweed and nettle cordage

Wildcrafted tea

Associated plants (ID, ecology, ethnobotany)

What to Bring:
Dress for the weather

Comfortable shoes (hiking boots not necessary)

Snacks/lunch

Packable camp chair or blanket

Northwest Natura presents Botany 101 - Herbarium Journal with Wildflowers

Please join botanist, Jazmen Yoder, for this unique field trip that combines art and science in learning the botanical terms for patterns found in nature.

This course is designed to be memorable and engaging with hands-on activities and a fun walk through the woods collecting flowers for pressing and preserving in a large art pad provided to you with tuition.

Our activities will include:

Plant Identification (a stroll through the woods)

Flower collection and pressing

Arts and crafts with flowers

Herbarium journaling

Learning botanical terminology (Botany 101)

Labeling and defining patterns and observations.

There are so many ways to generally describe a leaf’s shape and growth patterns, and there are unique flower patterns to learn too! There are scientific terms that botanists use that you will learn in this class that will help you recognize plant families and individual species. I’ll make it fun and easy to learn.

12” spiralbound art pads and pens/pencils will be given to all individuals present. Arts and crafts materials will be available for you to use.

PNW Subalpine Wildflowers - Plant ID walk with Northwest Natura @ Heather Meadows

Take a walk with a naturalist and trained botanist to one of the most beautiful areas in the North Cascades. The park-like setting of Heather Meadows offers several trails, picturesque views, and incredible biodiversity of wildlife.

At an elevation of ~4,300ft above sea level, Heather Meadows has close-up views of Kulshan (Mt. Baker stratovolcano), Shuksan, Table Mountain, and the jagged peaks of the North Cascades and Coast Range.

This course is a casual walk through your new favorite habitat! You will learn the names of subalpine flora and fauna and the natural history of the area. Wear your hiking boots and bring a camera! This trip is one you don’t want to miss!

What to Bring:
Dress for the weather – wear hiking boots or comfortable shoes.
