As human beings, regardless of race, class, gender, or the myriad other differences among us, we each need safety, connection, respect and to be heard. It can be hard to stay open to and welcoming of perspectives that differ from our own, but as neighbors and community members, we must. Instructors Julie Mauermann and Monica Koller will empower and encourage participants to build personal awareness of issues relating to race, ethnicity and cultural heritage. Workshops will also create space for dialogue to contribute to further learning and inspire compassion and kindness to honor the diversity of neighbors throughout Whatcom County. Free. All ages are welcome and pizza will be provided! Presented by The Whatcom Dispute Resolution Center, in partnership with the Whatcom County Library System.
