SheJumps Wild Skills Mountain Bike Adventure: Bellingham

Join us for a Wild Skills Adventure at Bellingham’s Lake Padden Park on Sunday, August 12!

SheJumps’ Wild Skills Adventures are open community events where parents/chaperones participate with the girls. Throughout the adventure, girls are introduced to a range of outdoor skills which include mountain biking, first aid, leave no trace, 10 essentials, shelter building and more. We strive to engage all generations in the sharing of knowledge and understanding. Connecting experience, energy and love for our natural places with the technical and survival skills girls need to get out and adventure.

Schedule for the Day:
The event start is a rolling one – where participants can show up as they want between 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. and move through the stations until they close at 2:00 p.m.
On the day of the event, you’ll register and get your specialized Wild Skills Adventure map which will guide you throughout the event. You start the day at the Lake Padden Park large shelter with a lesson in Leave No Trace principles and a ‘gear check’ to make sure you brought your 10 Essentials. From there you’ll proceed to the bike check & skills area where you’ll learn from our mountain biking experts.
From there you’ll make your way around the lake trail which takes you to different Adventure Stations set up throughout your journey. At each station, you’ll learn something new, have a challenge to figure out or get a treat. The Adventure Stations will allow girls and their families to put to practice areas of our Wild Skills curriculum including navigation, first aid and more.
Once you’ve completed the task at the station you’ll get a sticker and move along to the next. At the end of the hike, you’ll turn in your Adventure Map for a shot to win in the chance drawing!
