Whatcom Community College’s Community & Continuing Education program is offering an information session for the new certificate course in project management and quality management. The free session is 5:30-6:30 p.m. Monday, March 25 on WCC’s campus.

A project manager coordinates a team’s activities and tasks involved in successfully delivering the results of a project, such as an event, product launch, service, or business process. Project managers serve critical roles in manufacturing, retail, financial, tech companies, non-profits, and governmental agencies. Instructor Dr. Bill Warner is a seasoned project professional who provides students with the essential skills needed to understand and implement the fundamentals of project management in the workplace. Classes are a hybrid of face-to-face lectures and online coursework.

  • Applied Project Management Fundamentals: April 5 and 26, $495 course fee
  • Applied Quality Management Fundamentals: May 10 and 31, $495 course fee
  • Microsoft Project 2016: June 7 and 14, $239 course fee

Students who take all three classes (for a discounted fee of $1,095) will receive a certificate that demonstrates they have mastered the basics of project management. The certificate series fulfills the requirements for taking the PMI Certified Associate Project Manager exam and the ASQ Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification test. The courses do not apply toward WCC’s credit certificates and degrees. For more information and to register, call 360.383.3200 or visit www.whatcomcommunityed.com.
