Join N’nato Camara and Lamine Soumah for a West African Dance and Drum weekend!
N’nato and Lamine, along with several of their colleagues from Seattle and Vancouver Canada, will be in residence in Bellingham for three days of West African dance and music.
Makenzie Graham, organizer of Bellingham’s West African Drum and Dance group (https://www.facebook.com/groups/bhamwestafricandance/) is the driving force behind this residency. Partnering with Presence Dance Studio and WWU’s Department of Theatre and Dance, this residency involves several classes and a performance for the community. Friday 2/19:
N’nato and friends perform at Cabaret, hosted by WWU Department of Theater and Dance, $4, 8:00 p.m.
Saturday 2/20:
Drum class with Lamine, Presence Studio, $20, noon to 1:30 p.m.
Dance class with N’nato, WWU PAC MainStage, FREE!, 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Sunday 2/21:
Drum class with Lamine, Presence Studio, $20, 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Dance Class with N’nato, Presence Studio, $20, 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
