Volunteers are needed to bring Roots of Empathy to your local Elementary Schools—where a baby helps children learn about feelings, healthy relationships, and experience less bullying.

Join Whatcom Program Manager Sara Airoldi at the Ferndale Library on Tuesday, August 8, 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. (plus Q&A) to hear about volunteer opportunities in the award-winning Roots of Empathy program that improves the mental health and well-being of elementary school children.

Opportunities include:
-Volunteers to be Instructors: 1x week classroom instruction through school year, with training on evidence-based curriculum as well as mentor support

-Parent and “Tiny Teacher”: 1x month, though the school year, babies 2-4 months old in October

Interested schools in Whatcom for 2023-2024:
Ferndale Elementary: Eagle Ridge, Custer, Central
Blaine Primary School
Bellingham Elementary: Cordata, Parkview, Roosevelt, Columbia, Lowell, Wade King
Mt. Baker School District Elementary Schools: Kendall, Harmony, Acme
