Come join Hannah Andersen for a four-day immersion workshop in contemporary dance practices. Each day entails four hours in the studio, including a somatic-oriented movement lab focusing on the use of the spine, a contemporary dance technique class and a rehearsal process to create a new work. pr(axis) aims to bring together teen and adult dancers of the intermediate-professional level in an open and welcoming environment. Together we will grow in our understanding of our own capabilities in an effort to further enrich our contemporary dance practice through technique class and the choreographic process.
Hannah is known for her subtle, yet rigorous, and focused, yet light-hearted approach to dance education. She recently returned to Bellingham after completing her MFA in Dance at the University of Oregon. She is faculty at Whatcom Community College and a member of Bellingham Repertory Dance. Her teaching, research and choreography have been recognized by the International Association for Dance Medicine and Science, Dance Science and Somatics Educators, National Dance Education Organization and American College Dance Association.
