Make.Shift Art Space in downtown Bellingham is pleased to announce its fifth annual Block Party on Saturday, September 24 at 306 Flora St. featuring 14 local and regional bands, arts and crafts vendors, a beer garden, Kid Zone and more.
This year’s Make.Shift Block Party has something in store for everyone. Featuring live music, a Shred Off guitar competition, Vital Climbing Wall, a beer garden and a Kid Zone, the annual event has action-packed activities for all from noon to 8:00 p.m. For the first time ever, entry to this event is by donation! Guests are encouraged to bring a $5 to $10 donation, though no one will be turned away for lack of funds.
“To commemorate the fifth year of Block Party, we wanted to ensure it was accessible to everyone,” said Executive Director Tyson Ballew. “That’s why we are asking for a $5 to $10 donation so that no one is turned away and the event can still be successful.”
Block Party is Make.Shift’s largest fundraiser of the year with all proceeds dedicated to providing a safe, inclusive all-ages art space for the Bellingham community. Make.Shift expects more than 1,000 people to attend this year’s Block Party where they can learn about the space, participate in fun, creative activities with volunteers and staff and witness live performances from the artists and musicians who call Make.Shift home.
