Lake Whatcom Railway is excited to announce that we are running a special Independence Day train on Thursday, July 4th! We can’t think of a better way to celebrate America than to ride on a train that has been traveling the rails of the United States for over 100 years!
We will be departing from Wickersham Station at 12:00 Noon. Tickets are $20 for Adults, $14 for Children ages 2-17. Children under 2 are free. Select a family package if you have a group of 4 or 5 to receive a discount.
We are excited to couple our historic Pullman cars to the locomotive for a journey to the aptly named Mirror Lake. Enjoy the beautiful forest scenery as you are serenaded by the music of Ben the Banjo Player. We will be traveling in authentic Pullman passenger cars from Wickersham Station through the tunnel and on to Mirror Lake. Once we arrive, you will have the opportunity to ride an antique handcar prior to the journey back to Wickersham.
All ages are welcome to relive memories and create new ones on this nostalgic ride through history. You will be riding on train cars that have been in use for more than 100 years! Throughout your visit, you will see many pieces of railroad history, including our antique steam engine, number 1070.
Lake Whatcom Railway is dedicated to the preservation of railway history, and funds collected go towards the restoration and preservation of this American legacy. The Lake Whatcom Fourth of July excursion departs from Wickersham Station.
Plan to arrive 30 minutes prior to departure so that you may explore the century of railway history on site, and receive your ticket prior to boarding. Snacks and water will be available for purchase onboard the train.
