Bellingham Yacht Club launches 2022 boating season May 7 and You’re Invited
The public is invited to Opening Day for the Bellingham Yacht Club on Saturday, May 7. Festivities open to the public include a boat parade with Looney Tunes decorations, the traditional Flag raising and Blessing of the Fleet as well as events coordinated with Bellingham’s waterfront and other clubs and organizations. BYC members are treated to a morning reception and afternoon party.
In addition to the Opening Day excitement, BYC is welcoming new members and waiving the initiation fee through May 19th. The many benefits include racing and cruising events, youth programs, safety and other education, reciprocity with other clubs, and many social activities. Opening Day public ceremonies start at 10:45 am at BYC and the cannon will be fired at 1 pm, to signal the start of the boat parade from the Bellingham Ferry Terminal. To register for the parade and prizes, https://byc.org/event/472jO9sQu3. BYC membership is not required for parade participation.
