Summit Place Assisted Living, Bellingham’s premiere assisted living community, has just appointed Jozef Bosman as its new Executive Director. In this capacity, Bosman will oversee Summit Place’s day-to-day operations, including nursing, maintenance, dining services, and personnel with the goal of providing excellence in service and amenities to the residents he serves. Bosman was most recently the Dining Services Director for Mt. Baker Care Center, a skilled nursing facility operating under the same roof, which also serves the long-term care residents of Summit Place. Bosman will assume his new role on February 1, 2020.

“Jozef is the perfect person to step into the Executive Director position,” said Pete Wolkin, Chief Operations Officer for Nightingale Healthcare, which owns and operates Summit Place Assisted Living. “Since joining the Nightingale family nearly five years ago, he’s proven invaluable to our teams at both Mt. Baker and Summit Place as well as all the residents residing under our shared roof. We look forward to watching him thrive in this new role.”

Bosman joined Nightingale in 2015 as Dining Services Director, serving the residents of both Mt. Baker Care Center and Summit Place Assisted Living. Bringing with him more than three decades of professional experience in the food service industry, Bosman oversaw the food service program for the facility, including ordering, developing menus, promotions and specials. For the last five years, he has gained valuable experience and appreciation for the skilled nursing and assisted living professions as well as a depth of understanding of resident needs, desires, and how to use best practices to successfully fulfill both.

Bosman obtained his bachelor’s degree in Hotel & Restaurant Hospitality Management at Washington State University. He also studied at the Culinary Institute of America in New York.
