Trading a Melody: Lyrical & Instrumental Song Circle

Join local musicians Zach Bauman and Sam Vogt for a workshop on the intersection of singing lyrics and playing melodies. If you’ve ever wanted to work on soloing in a lyrical song, or just enjoy singing while others play along, this is your workshop! Bring a song or two to share, and we’ll use a group discussion format to explore ways to weave instrumental music into lyrical music. Sam and Zach will use examples from their experience playing in bands with both singers and instrumentalists, and will share ways to think about contributing your voice, instrumental melody, or both.
