Founded in Lynden in 1921, Peoples Bank is celebrating 100 years in business this year. It is still locally owned, family-managed, and now serves communities in Whatcom, Skagit, Island, Snohomish, King, Chelan, and Douglas counties.
Please join us for a community celebration on Saturday, August 7 at the Lynden Pioneer Museum to learn more about the Bank’s legacy, enjoy hotdogs, giveaways, refreshments, and free entrance to the museum until 4 p.m.
To help commemorate Peoples Bank’s 100th anniversary, the museum has re-named its exhibition gallery the “Peoples Bank Gallery.” Further underscoring its commitment to preserving the rich history of Lynden, Peoples Bank recently made a $100,000 donation to the museum’s Endowment Foundation. The endowment operates as a trust, providing general operating support annually at a set rate, reducing the need for general fundraising by nearly half. The museum is also supported by admissions, memberships, fundraising, gift shop sales, and percentages of a city lodging tax. This will allow the Pioneer Museum to plan long-term, and continue telling future generations about Lynden’s history.
