Join us by land or by sea at the border to show that there is no border when it comes to protecting the Salish Sea! The Salish Sea is increasingly being used as a fossil fuel transportation corridor. Working to stop projects that transport fossil fuels on our waters is an end in itself and a means to slowing fossil fuel production and consumption.

Netse Mot means “one mind” in Lummi language. Tribal and non-tribal, US and Canadian, fishers, kayakers, pleasure boaters, elders, youth, and everyone in-between who loves the Salish Sea: we may speak with many voices but we are of one mind when it comes to protecting our home.

We will gather at the Fishing Pier in Blaine, at the end of Marine Drive; boaters will gather on the waters just off the pier, please follow the blue purse seiner named “The Salish Sea”. If you are launching a kayak or canoe or small craft, please do so from the Blaine public boat launch on Milhollin Drive. Tribal leaders will speak, and will stand with NGO’s and faith communities, all addressing the question “What can be done to save the Salish Sea?” Music by the Blackhawk Singers, a round dance on land and water to show unity. Bring red or wear red.

This event is hosted by Lummi Nation Sovereignty and Treaty Protection Office, in partnership with RE Sources for Sustainable Communities; Stand.earth; Earth Ministry; Bellingham Unitarian Fellowship; Sierra Club; 350 Seattle; Mosquito Fleet.
