Interfaith Choir Fest

In an annual spring tradition, Interfaith Coalition is hosting Choir Fest. Choir Fest is an opportunity to enjoy live spiritual music, performed by several congregations of diverse faiths.

Each participating choir presents one song. Then, all choir members join together, with over 200 voices, to sing two songs. The first, “Make Me An Instrument of Thy Peace,” is a beautiful setting of the Prayer of St. Francis with orchestral accompaniment.

The second, “All Lifted Hearts,” is a simple melody with spoken lines on the subject of the golden rule. These come from the scriptures of many faiths, including Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, Sikh, Native American/Lummi and Buddhist traditions. The speakers represent the diverse faith traditions found here in Whatcom County, and will make a powerful statement with the choir about working together for peace. Following the performance, a freewill offering will be taken to support the work of Interfaith in the community, delivering hope through homes, shelter and food.
