House Concert with Joe Jencks and Wes Weddell
Doors open at 7 PM. No advance ticket sales.

Joe Jencks and Wes Weddell, two accomplished singer/songwriters with deep Northwest roots, bring their Fall 2019 tour to Bellingham on Sunday, November 3, performing selections from their respective repertoires and collaborating throughout.
Joe Jencks spent the 1990s in Seattle, launching a career that has garnered global acclaim from his powerful voice and socially-conscious songs. A 20-year veteran of the international folk circuit, these days the award-winning songwriter and celebrated vocalist currently calls Chicago home. Merging conservatory training with his Irish roots and working-class upbringing, Jencks delivers engaged musical narratives filled with heart, soul, groove, and grit. He is also co-founder of the harmony trio, Brother Sun. Blending well-crafted instrumentals and vivid songwriting, Jencks serves it all up with a lyric baritone voice that has the edgy richness of a good sea-salt caramel. JoeJencks.com.
For the past twenty years, Wes Weddell has worked multiple shifts in the engine room of Seattle’s roots music scene as frontman, sideman, writer, teacher, and community-builder. In 2001 he received the inaugural Mary Gates Venture Fellowship from the University of Washington to travel the region gathering local lore and turning it into song (My Northwest Home). Celebrated for its thoughtful and accessible approach, the effort earned a “Modern-Day Woody Guthrie” comparison from the Seattle Times and set Weddell on a mission to give voice to his neighbors that continues today. In 2010, Weddell began working with The Bushwick Book Club Seattle, an expanding collective of songwriters who each compose new music inspired by literature to share in monthly showcases focused around specific books.WesWeddell.com.

Though the pair usually manage one annual show together somewhere, Jencks and Weddell have not toured together since 2007. Expect good laughs, great harmony, and deep community connection from an evening with these two expert performers.
