Please join us on Tuesday, January 23 from 4:00-5:15 p.m. for a Community Engagement Forum on the theme “Confronting the Opioid Crisis.”

The event will take place in the Pavilion at Maritime Heritage Park (514 W. Holly St) and is open to all. Refreshments will be provided.

The community leaders who will serve as panelists include:

Tony Gargano, Internal Medicine, Peace Health

Cindy Hollinsworth, Communicable Diseases, Whatcom County Health Department

Michelle Heitmann, Chemical Dependency Professional Certificate Program, Whatcom Community College

Panelists and the audience will engage with questions surrounding emerging pathways toward addressing this epidemic, which is the deadliest drug crisis in U.S. history.

Please come to learn from our panelists and engage in dialogue on this important topic!

Community Engagement Forums are part of the Community Engagement Fellows program (www.cefellows.org).

The mission of Community Engagement Fellows is to help higher education faculty and community-based educators in northwestern Washington nurture engaged citizens, serve the public and improve our region and the planet.
