Following the morning reception, the conference begins with a 9:00 a.m. welcome and keynote presentation by social justice educator Michael Benitez. Chief diversity officer and dean of diversity and inclusion at the University of Puget Sound, Benitez is known for his down-to-earth insightful commentary and critical perspectives on social and cultural issues. Students will then lead a series of three one-hour social justice workshops, beginning at 10:40 a.m.  Workshop topics include disabilities, sexual identity, communication, racial profiling and bullying. The lunch break will feature Indonesian and martial arts performances by WCC international students and a Flow performance by the Bellingham Artisan Collective. Participants will also enjoy free refreshments and the chance to win participation prizes. An informational fair closes the conference.
