Birchwood Garden Club’s November Meeting

Our speaker for the evening will be Brian Minter, owner of Minter Country Garden Store in Chilliwack, B.C. Mr. Minter will introduce us to a new gardening trend focusing on the connections between people, plants and the planet. Based on the Garden Media Group’s 2019 theme of “Rooted Together,” his presentation will cover ways to promote a stronger connection and better understanding of nature. With this closer connection to nature, gardening folks are becoming more aware of the many challenges facing our planet and their individual responsibility to help change the things they can. The new style of gardening is less about self-interest and more about supporting a broader range of the natural world we have around us. Come and hear about ways we can deepen our connections between people, plants and the planet! Please join us!

The Birchwood Garden Club provides financial support and /or gardening expertise to the following community organizations: Bellingham Public Library, Growing Veterans, Cornwall Rose Garden, Whatcom Museum of History and Art and the Bellingham Food Bank.
