BMC “Night Beat in the afternoon” presents cellist Elinor Frey
The Bellingham Music Club continues its 107th season under the theme Concerts à la Carte, offering eclectic and delicious tastings throughout the year.
Internationally acclaimed, Seattle-born cellist Elinor Frey will perform La Voce del Violoncello, her personal journey through early cello works from Northern Italy. In the Baroque era, Italian cellist-composers contributed some of the most original and celebrated Baroque works for the instrument. Dall’Abaco, Supriani, Vitali, Gabrielli, Ruvo, Colombi, and Galli have each written cello music that is charming, sumptuous, and captivating.
Ms. Frey is a leading Canadian-American cellist, gambist, and researcher. She performs throughout the Americas and Europe in recital and with numerous chamber ensembles and orchestras such as Constantinople, Il Gardellino, Tafelmusik, Pacific Baroque Orchestra, Arion, Les idées heureuses, etc.
Her performance is on Sunday, October 16, 3pm at the Squalicum Boathouse on Zuanich Point (Bellingham Harbor). Free for all students; $20 suggested donation for others. More information on bellinghammusicclub.org. Masks required.
The Bellingham Music Club is a non-profit philanthropy. It supports music in the community with daytime and evening concert series, and encourages the next generation of musicians with student competitions and awards.
