Beginning Embroidery

In this class learn to use a hoop, choose thread, transfer patterns, and use eight different embroidery stitches with instructor Laura Boynton. The art of embroidery is not only an ancient one, it crosses all cultures, meaning that you can see similar traditional motifs in locations as diverse as Holland, Mexico and Thailand.  Decorative raised stitching – which is all embroidery is – can be used to enhance quilts and jazz up anything from pillows to clothing. These days, artists offer a wide variety of embroidery patterns from vintage reproductions to erotic designs.
