
Step back in time to Victorian London, home to Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s legendary literary detective, with a Dec. 9 road trip to the International Exhibition of Sherlock Holmes at the Pacific Science Center in Seattle. Registration deadline is Dec. 2 at noon.
Solve a baffling new case using Holmes’ famous methods of deduction and participate in experiments featuring 1890’s scientific innovations and tools. Dive into history with a glimpse of Conan Doyle’s life experiences as they relate to his creation of Sherlock Holmes and explore the lasting impact of this character through scripts, costumes, and behind-the-scenes tools from such pop culture sensations as BBC’s “Sherlock” and CBS’ “Elementary.”
This road trip is offered through Whatcom Community College’s Community & Continuing Education program. The $89 course fee includes exhibition admission and transportation provided by day trip partner, Bellair Charters. After touring the exhibit, participants will have time to enjoy lunch on their own and tour the rest of the Pacific Science Center or neighboring attractions. The bus leaves WCC at 9 a.m. and departs Seattle at 4 p.m. Ages 12 and up registered with a parent or guardian are welcome.
