Local metal fabrication business, Architectural Elements, expands its capabilities through the purchase of Camtec Precision, a long-standing precision machining shop.

Architectural Elements (AE) is a team of artisans that design, fabricate, and install specialized architectural and landscape related projects. Working with all metals, wood, glass, and plastics, AE can custom-fabricate any manner of decorative elements and architectural details—from intricate light fixtures, to multi-story staircases. AE was founded in 2007 by craftsman & master fabricator, Joe Clark. Joe started in his 2-car garage in Bellingham and quickly built a reputation among local residential contractors for his high-end, custom, metal fabrication. Today, AE’s primary focus is Seattle’s commercial construction market. AE now fabricates for large-scale commercial jobs, contracting with high-profile end-users such as Google, Facebook, Microsoft, and was even featured in a national, reality TV show. With this foundation, AE has expanded its capabilities by acquiring local precision machining shop, Camtec Precision.

Camtec Precision is a respected machine, tooling, and prototype company also located in Bellingham. Founded in 1985 by Chuck McCoy, Camtec has survived economic booms and recessions, servicing the greater Seattle area for over 30 years. Camtec is primarily an industrial & manufacturing support company with a history of great success in luxury residential, architectural products fabrication. Most notably, Camtec produced a great deal of hardware for Bill & Melinda Gates’ Seattle residence along with many other high-end residential projects.

Under AE’s proprietorship, Camtec will remain a precision machining and close-tolerance fabrication company. Camtec will continue to service the shipping & maritime, aircraft interior refit, vintage aircraft parts production, oil refinery, aluminum smelting, electricity generation, rope manufacturing, and food processing industries, with a renewed passion for metal architectural hardware. The types of products that can be produced from CNC machines are as varied as the industries and people they serve. As a full-service machine shop, Camtec can develop, design, and produce ferrous and non-ferrous metal, machined components and offers assembly services for those looking for a turnkey product. Camtec is also ITAR certified and AS9100 compliant. Camtec & AE’s fleet vehicles can make deliveries to local businesses and those within immediate city hubs (i.e. Seattle); products are also available for will-call and pick up at Camtec’s location in the Irongate neighborhood. Customer service oriented and quality conscious, Camtec has an overarching thread of art, architecture, and design punctuating its product offerings.

Together with AE, Camtec will give the world and in-depth look at the making of highly crafted, CNC & hand-made products. With their combined equipment and workforce, the companies will be capable of providing an even wider variety of products & services to their customers.

AE & Camtec look forward to providing uniquely crafted metal products to businesses and homeowners throughout the I-5 corridor. Contact Camtec for your precision machining needs.
