Historic Fairhaven Association is looking for an original map of Fairhaven to be displayed at the Fairhaven Gazebo on the corner of Harris Avenue and 10th Street. Art work is to be hand painted/drawn/applied on existing board.*

The map should be a “timeless” representation of the historic and creative spirit of Fairhaven Village. With a focus on getting around the village and noting local landmarks (no specific businesses), it should also nod toward destinations nearby (i.e., downtown Bellingham, Marine Park, Mount Baker….)

Your creative interpretation is what we are looking for.

Artwork guidelines:

  1. May be full color fine art, graphic art, line or illustration. Basically, any 2D image will be considered.
  2. Final map size is approximately 4’x4’.
  3. Due to placement on the gazebo, direction is important. West should be at the top, North to the right, East to the bottom, and South to the left.
  4. Please include “You are Here” at the map location!
  5. Artwork must be original to artist.
  6. You may submit as many images as you want.
  7. Must be able to create final art upon acceptance.

The top 10 submissions will each receive a Fairhaven swag bag. The selected artist will receive $500. Artist will be acknowledged on HFA website and the image.

All art submissions are due by July 31, 2019.

Please submit jpeg images and/or questions to: map@fairhaven.com

*the board is able to be removed and worked on offsite, if desired.
