On November 2 from 6:30-8:00 p.m., Lydia Place and The Upfront Theatre will partner to take a serious stand for homeless families at the first annual “Humor for Housing.” Presented by Pysden Team-Caliber Home Loans, this comedic event is a fundraiser to benefit Lydia Place and their mission to end the cycle of poverty and homelessness for children and their families in Whatcom County.

“The Upfront Theatre is partnering with Lydia Place to benefit a serious need in our community,” said Billy Tierney, General Manager of The Upfront Theatre. “We are thrilled to host the Lydia Place fundraiser event “Humor for Housing” where we will use our action-packed improv comedy to bring forth the chuckles and belly laughs from the supportive folks of Whatcom County to further Lydia Place’s mission that every family deserves a home.”

The proceeds of this exclusive event will go to support the programs and services of Lydia Place, a nonprofit community-based agency serving homeless families in Whatcom County. The mission of Lydia Place is to support establishing sustained independence by providing housing, supportive services, advocacy, education, and by raising awareness of the faces and causes of homelessness.

“We’re excited to partner with The Upfront Theatre to raise awareness for our programs and services in a fun atmosphere,” said Lydia Place Development and Outreach Director Shultzie Willows. “Our organization relies on creative and fun partnerships within our community, and we are excited to grow this new relationship with Whatcom County’s most popular comedy club.”
