“The trained nurse has become one of the great blessings of humanity, taking a place beside the physician and the priest,” said William Osler, a Canadian physician who is one of the four founders of Johns Hopkins Hospital.
Why? Because they’re good with computers? Probably not.
You’re not alone if you don’t know anyone who entered the healthcare profession so he or she could spend more time at a computer.
Nurses and other staff members at Christian Health Care Center (CHCC) in Lynden are there to spend time with residents and patients.
That’s why CHCC is so excited to announce that new computers, and an upgraded software system, are up and running!
Christian Health Care Center is particularly excited about this system upgrade because it was the result of an initiative that started on the floor, with CHCC staff members. They let management team members know that nurses and other staff members were spending too much time waiting on a slow, aging computer system.
With that concern in hand, administration took time to identify a solution and then brought that before the CHCC Board of Directors. The board was fully behind the endeavor; they approved the technology upgrade and ensured it could be put into practice as soon as possible.
Everyone at CHCC is committed to ensuring staff members have the tools they need to do their jobs right. And that means less time inputting data, and more time working with residents and patients.
Of course the new software system, PointClickCare, offers more than just less time on screen. Used by more than 13,000 senior care providers, the system helps increase the quality of care, aids in business performance and simplifies regulatory compliance.
Christian Health Care Center is proud of the fact that staff members feel empowered to bring ideas to management, and that management has the backs of staff members. Together with the board, they are all working to ensure those under their care get top-notch care with the utmost expertise and compassion.
