Learn how to re-purpose wooden furniture elements into new, useful and beautiful furniture! Our instructor, Eberhard Eichner, has years of experience working with recycled materials and will teach you how to identify the architectural “bones” of an item and see how it could be re-mixed and re-purposed into funky and functional furniture.
The Foundry has acquired a large cache of never-used assorted furniture parts, all sanded and finished, that we are re-purposing into different furniture. In the class we will be focusing on simple furniture like a desk bench or a chest.
Students will learn the basics of remixing furniture, build their own desk and take it home! Day 1 will be the Design Class, where Eberhard will show you the basics and walk through the process step-by-step. Day 2 we build your furniture!
Held on 2 consecutive Saturdays, Apr 30 and May 7 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Cost is $80 for Foundry members, $100 for non-members. All materials and tools provided. Please bring your own safety glasses, and wear closed-toed shoes.
Please reserve your space now, as we are limited to just a handful of students.
