Learn how to build your own yard and garden structures using 2x3s and the versatile steel connector ‘Framing Frog’. These little steel brackets making framing easy, so you can quickly and safely assemble plates, studs, rafters and pitched roofs. All using the adaptable little Framing Frog!
Students will
Gain some basic skills in design & measurement
Operate a few power tools like the cordless drill and chop saw
Take home their creations
Students should bring:
Tuff gloves (for working with the sheet metal)
Eye protection
Class is two sessions of 2 hours each, on consecutive Saturdays starting at noon on February 27. All materials and tools are provided.
If less than 3 students are signed up before Wednesday Feb 24, we may have to cancel or reschedule class, so please register early!
About the instructor:
Tony Noordmans is a retired Construction Trades trainer and Apprenticing manager. He earned his Masters in Education at Michigan State University and is Master certified by the National Center for Construction Education & Research. He and his wife, Joyce, owned Passive Solar Residential Design and Construction LLC. His present focus is Sustainable Urban farm and gardening, and promoting his versatile “Yard and Garden Framing Frog”,a DIY system to build a variety of yard and garden structures. He and his wife live in the Ferndale area.
