Speaker: Georgia Davenport, Campaign Director for Whole Washington, Universal Healthcare for Washington State

Georgia is a leader in the effort to bring universal healthcare to Washington State. In 2017 she founded Whole Washington and in 2018 she led the statewide effort to pass I-1600, which gathered 100,000 signatures. Georgia and others did the groundwork with former Senator Maralyn Chase to write and vet SB 5222 creating the whole Washington health trust, which Senator Bob Hasegawa introduced in the state senate in January 2019. It recently died in committee.

Georgia is also a mother, a Washington State Democratic Central Committee representative for the 33rd Legislative District, and the secretary for the Washington State Progressive Caucus. In 2016 she was the phone bank organizer for I-735 aimed to overturning Citizens United, which gained 64% of the vote. Her involvement in politics comes from the desire to create a better future for her daughter and all children who need bold legislation today so they have healthcare tomorrow.
