Glossophobia: The fear of public speaking. Master your fear with Toastmasters. Join us at the Barkley Toasters Open House, February 17, 2017.
Come experience the fun, friendly, supportive learning environment that is a Toastmasters club. You are invited to a special Barkley Toasters Open House on Friday, February 17, 2017 from 12:00 Noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Dorothy Haggen Building, 2211 Rimland Drive, Suite 106 in Bellingham.
In the United States, 75% of all adults suffer from speech anxiety. For over 90 years, Toastmasters has helped millions of people overcome this anxiety. There is no need to fear public speaking. From giving a toast at a wedding or party, a presentation at work, improving your everyday communication and listening skills, and developing leadership abilities, participating in Toastmasters is an empowering experience.
Barkley Toasters was founded in 2009. Our membership includes a diverse mix of folks including an author, accountant, attorney, HR Director, solar energy advisor, entrepreneurs, retirees and those employed by for-profits and non-profits. Member Nikki Jefford has benefited greatly from her Toastmasters experience: “Since joining her local Toastmasters club, published author Nikki Jefford has gone from being a tongue-tied introvert at book conferences to guest speaking on panels in four different states. In the past she only used to sell a few books at author events but she now sells out. Through Toastmasters, she improved her networking and social skills which led to landing a literary agent with exciting projects in the works.”
We hope to meet you at our Open House. Snacks and beverages will be provided as well as some small gifts for all visitors! Barkley Toasters meets the first, third, and fifth Fridays of each month at 12:00 Noon. Occasionally a meeting will not be held due to a holiday…please check website: http://1383833.toastmastersclubs.org/ . Visitors are welcome at any club meeting.
