Thursday Night in the Piano Lounge: Joe & Carol Young

Joe got his first guitar at the age of 5 and never looked back, performing for classmates, birthday parties, family reunions and church functions. Always happy to play requests, he developed an extensive repertoire. By the the time he was a senior in high school, Joe had written nearly a hundred songs, mostly inspired by stories of rambling, riding freight trains through the night, and hitch hiking across the country, all of which he did in his own life.
Carol took piano lessons in grade school and has always loved music and dance. Her memories of the spinet piano in her home, as compared to the rich upright downstairs, we say it’s no wonder she fell in love with the bass guitar.
