Spring Species: Beginner's Bird and Plant ID @ Point Whitehorn Park

The warblers are arriving, and the salmonberry is blooming. Are you looking to deepen your appreciation of nature this spring? Join Brigitte and Jazmen for a guided walk through a peaceful, mature forest at Point Whitehorn and learn to identify some of our favorite spring beauties.

This is a great class for beginning birders and will focus on skills to help you recognize common migratory and local bird species by sight and sound, as well as the plants they use for shelter and food sources.

The pace of the walk will be slow, giving us time to study our surroundings. Come ready to learn about life histories, migration, the importance of citizen science, plant-wildlife interactions, and more.

We will work together to use diagnostic features, habitat clues, and songs to ID birds and create a species checklist.

Class size is limited to 8 people, ages 16 and up. There are 3 spaces left at the time of this listing. RSVP ASAP!

Trail length: 1.5 miles roundtrip, Difficulty: Easy
