Senior Day in the Park

The Whatcom Council on Aging is excited to announce the 24th year of Whatcom Senior Day in the Park, a festival for older adults. This event is dedicated to connecting older adults with local resources and businesses that cater to seniors and their families.
Senior Day in the Park will take place at Hovander Homestead Park, 5299 Nielsen Ave, Ferndale, WA 98248, on Wednesday, August 7th from 10am-2pm.

Seniors and their adult children are invited to attend this fun and important resource fair geared towards older adults. Activities throughout the day include: a grilled picnic lunch, live music, Hovander Park garden tours, exercise demonstrations, games and more. Lunch will be available from 11:30am-1pm; There is a suggested donation of $5 for lunch, but please join us regardless of your ability to pay.

This year’s Senior Day in the Park resource fair will feature over 90 local businesses and resources representing housing, education, recreation, and health, including presenting sponsor, Guided Solutions. Representatives from Senior Centers from throughout Whatcom County will be at the resource fair and older adults are encouraged to reach out to their local senior center to sign up for transportation to the event provided by Whatcom Transit Authority.
