We’ll take a Halloween-timed tour, illustrated with clips, through depictions of the Dark One as the demonic rascal in the Exorcist and Conjuring series, the proud papa of Rosemary’s Baby and The Omen, and antihero to worshippers in cult movies like The Devil Rides Out and The Seventh Victim. Carve out the pentagrams and sniff the brimstone, because we’ll conjure up an unlikely movie star and wonder why Beelzebub’s appeal seems more seductive than ever.
