Tree buds burst forth, green leaves sprout open, petals protrude, each sign of new growth is the sounding of a celebratory bell in the bright air. We hear the sap song that rises in the trees, the wheel of the year is spinning into Spring. What are all of the ways that we honor this season inside of our bodies and in relationship to place? This weekend workshop with herbalist Liz Migliorelli entwines wild land expression, the exchanges of the elements and a rooting into the seasonal cycle via folk magic traditions of Old Europe.

In collaboration with the Nooksack River, water magic will be a central focus of the weekend in the form of crafting holy waters and flower essences. We will meet Willow, Hawthorn and other plants who have their roots in water and inspire rejuvenation and nourishment for the quickening time of year. The Frog Goddess of folktales and mythos will join our circle, an ancient symbol of the fertile creatrix. Other elements of this workshop include: finding the footing of cosmic folk dance that awakens the land, making medicines to enrich our home apothecaries, crafting land offerings and incubating dreams for the group.
