Shibori is a Japanese tie–dyeing technique which involves folding, twisting or bunching cloth and binding it, then dyeing it. Using disperse dyes, polyester and a heat press machine, participants will create beautiful textiles for use as scarves, wall hangings, wearable art, etc. Explore various ways to create three dimensional shibori pieces using paper molds, as well as two-dimensional applications such as image transfer.

Participant Materials and Requirements: Fabric scissors, paper scissors, pencil, X-acto knife, cutting mat (8? x 11? or larger), paint brushes (various sizes for water color or acrylic painting).
