Masa DeLara and skilled WDRC facilitators will empower and encourage residents to build personal awareness of issues relating to race, ethnicity and cultural heritage. Workshops will also create space for dialogue to contribute to further learning and inspire compassion and kindness to honor the diversity of neighbors throughout Whatcom County. This will take place in a free two-hour workshop, followed by a one-hour facilitated community conversation. No need to RSVP.

This event will engage and empower participants to grow and engage in activities that:
– Honor human diversity
– Promote cultural self-awareness and understanding
– Engage in cross-cultural learning activities to gain in-depth knowledge of the history and culture of ethnic and cultural groups
– Examine historical and institutional power of the “isms” – racism, sexism, classism, etc.

Event is most suitable for people over the age of 13 though all are welcome.

Contact Iris Maute-Gibson at outreach@whatcomdrc.org, 360-676-0122.

This event is made possible thanks to funding from Whatcom Community Foundation’s Project Neighborly.
