Orca Recovery Day with Whatcom Conservation District, Whatcom Land Trust, and NSEA

Since 2018, when the Southern Resident Killer Whale Tahlequah carried her dead calf for over 1000 miles of Pacific Northwest Coast, volunteers across the Puget Sound have put in volunteer time each year for Orca Recovery Day. With collective effort toward habitat restoration for Chinook Salmon, our local orca’s primary food source, we can keep doing our part for the Southern Resident Orca. Over the last six years we have helped restore stretches of California Creek for Chinook salmon, and this year we can help our local orca by planting more native plants along the creek. Celebrate Orca Recovery Day with the Nooksack Salmon Enhancement Association, the Whatcom Conservation District, and the Whatcom Land Trust this year as we plant native trees and shrubs on a brand-new stretch of California Creek.
