We welcome everyone to attend this year’s Build Community Day on Saturday, October 15th to volunteer in the King Mountain neighborhood, engaging in minor repairs, as well as community projects for the neighbors of our current build site, the Telegraph Townhomes.
Habitat for Humanity will also be holding a candidate forum during the lunch hour. So far, Tawsha Thompson, Sharon Shewmake, Simon Sefzik, Alicia Rule and Trevor Smith have agreed to join us to share their thoughts on the affordable housing crisis in Whatcom, and discuss ways we can come together as a community to solve it. We hope you can attend this important discussion. The forum will be held at the Unity Spiritual Center at 1095 Telegraph Road and we will be providing lunch.
We hope you can come out to show your support. If you haven’t volunteered with us before, this would be a great day to start. You can create a volunteer account today by visiting our Habitat for Humanity Whatcom website at www.hfhwhatcom.org, or by going to www.hfh.volunteerhub.com.
