Join local naturalist Marlee Mountain on a leisurely walk along Padden Creek to identify birds and wild edible and medicinal plants. Bring a snack to mix with wild edibles that we will forage. Bring a listening ear to tune into the birdsong.
Foraging is an important skill for resilient community. Any knowledge of our environment that the community can acquire allows us to connect more with and respect nature.
Marlee Mountain has taught for North Cascades Institute and Padilla Bay Reserve. She has studied birds and wild plants for 35 years and led walks at numerous sites including Rockport State Park.
Ages 13 and up.
Please dress to be outdoors comfortably.
