The Whatcom Museum welcomes Washington Supreme Court Justice Raquel Montoya-Lewis for a virtual presentation to talk about her career and work in honor of the centennial of the 19th amendment, which gave women the right to vote in the United States.
Justice Montoya-Lewis was appointed to the Washington State Supreme Court by Gov. Jay Inslee in December 2019 and took the oath of office on Jan. 6, 2020. She is the first enrolled member of any tribe to sit on a state supreme court in the US and the second Native American to sit on a state supreme court.
