The seventh annual Farm Celebration to Benefit the Co-op’s Farm Fund is right around the corner. Join the fun and support local farms! The Community Food Co-op is happy to co-sponsor this lively community event with Sustainable Connections and kick off Eat Local Month in grand fashion—a month dedicated to celebrating all the folks who work hard every day to provide us with local food.
Enjoy some rollicking live music by the Penny Stinkers, a dance performance by Estrellitas de Bellingham a multicultural Latino dance group, mariachi music by Mariachi Bahía Azul – de WWU, farmer recognition and awards, and Boundary Bay Brewery beer and local barbecue—all to benefit the Community Food Co-op’s Farm Fund. 100% of proceeds directly benefit sustainable, organic food and farming projects in Whatcom and Skagit counties.
“This fun and engaging event is not to be missed! This is our seventh year hosting the event, and it just keeps getting better and better. We’ll dance, eat, and raise a glass to acknowledge the contribution of the hardworking farm community. And while we’re having fun, we’ll also raise money to support the Farm Fund that helps farmers grow even more local, organic, and sustainable food for all of us,” said Karl Meyer, Community Food Co-op community outreach.
