Excellent opportunity for parents and anyone who works or cares for children! The Parent Leadership Training Institutes English and Spanish course for Whatcom Residents

The non-profit organization Washington Family Engagement offers the Parent Leadership Training Institute and The Children’s Learning Training Institute. An online, no-cost, 12 weeks-long course. It covers different topics to encourage parents or anyone in contact with children, whether through work or care, to become actively involved in their communities and schools. They will learn leadership and public speaking skills and how to understand and navigate systems. In addition, they develop a community project to benefit their schools or communities as part of their graduation requirement. These courses are the equivalent of a college quarter, and upon completion, graduates earn five elective credits for Community college.
This year the graduation will be held on Saturday, May 20th, at the Washington State Capitol.
Registration for the Spring session is open, and classes begin on February 25th. We offer a cohort for Spanish speakers living in Whatcom County for parents who feel more comfortable taking classes in this language. Classes fill very fast. Please register now!
