Young artists in this studio class will be able to design patterns and draw from nature to compose drawings and bright hue paintings. They will explore our diverse and exciting world and compose, draw and paint a self-portrait and/ or portrait of others. Artists will make a series of painted cards to bring home for to give or send to friends and family. They will explore Inuit and Eskimo artwork and boarder design for their own drawings and brightly colored paintings of mammals and birds, leaves, pine cones and natural features with background and boarders. They will have the opportunity to experiment with patterns and textures. Artists will explore negative and positive space, composition and develop rendering and painting skills. Community centered transferable skills of collaboration, group sharing and positive communication are fostered.
Inclusiveness is encouraged and artists’ exploration celebrated each week. All ability levels and guests welcome.
