Join us on a guided hike and discussion on climate-friendly forest management!

Have you ever wondered if there are alternatives to clearcut logging? Can our forests produce wood products while still fostering biodiversity, forest health, and climate resilience? Join local forest policy expert Alexander Harris (RE Sources) on a hike through managed timberlands to learn about the promises and challenges of “ecological forest management” — a new approach that balances the economic, ecological, and cultural benefits that our forests can provide.

RSVP required. Capped at 30 participants. Please fill out this form once per participant.

This community hike hosted by RE Sources and Center for Responsible Forestry is focused on the impact of forestry and clearcutting in Lake Whatcom watershed, showcased by the recent Oyster timber sale on state land managed by the Dept. of Natural Resources (DNR). It’s a great opportunity to connect directly with the landscape and learn more about the nuances of forest management.
