Bellingham City Club’s first forum this election season will feature the Senate District 42 race and the contest for the Public Utility District No. 1 Commissioner 3 seat. The online event is on Wednesday, August 24 at 12:00 PM and early registration is recommended at https://bhamcityclub.wildapricot.org/event-4922948/Registration . You will receive your link to the zoom webinar the day prior to the forum. You won’t receive the link without registration. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask the candidates questions.
Sharon Shewmake (D) and Simon Sefzik (R), the top two vote-getters in the four-person primary, are now the contenders for the Senate seat in the 42nd District. In 2022 the Whatcom County Council appointed Mr. Sefzik to finish out the late Doug Ericksen’s unexpired term. Ms. Shewmake has served two terms as a 42nd District representative in the State Legislature.
Jaime Arnett and Eric Davidson are competing for the Commissioner District 3 seat, Public Utility District No. 1.
