Boater’s Intro to Coastal Navigation

In this two-day course, Captain Mike Reed teaches you how to read a marine chart, plot a course, measure distance, estimate time of travel and more. Basic navigation skills are essential for the safety and self-sufficiency of anglers, kayakers, sailors, power boaters and all boating enthusiasts. We’ll provide all the local charts and navigational tools needed, but feel free to bring your own. Navigation on inland waters using printed charts and common electronic navigation resources is the focus of this introductory class. Celestial navigation is not covered.
